I am a third-generation Coloradan, and I have called Douglas County home for 32 years. I love Douglas County—we live in a very special place. To show my appreciation, I have committed my life to public service and volunteerism.
I served two terms as elected County Commissioner. I am a fiscal conservative and a true believer in limited government. I understand how county government and our $600M budget works. I have extensive experience in working with federal, state and community leaders of different backgrounds and interests to accomplish real results for my constituents. I am intimately familiar with the laws pertaining to the statutory requirements of County government.
As a former County Coroner my knowledge of county government operations is deep and relevant. Having held muItiple elected county offices, I am 100% committed to keeping ALL County Offices as ELECTED POSITIONS ACCOUNTABLE TO THE VOTERS AND SUBJECT TO STATE-MANDATED TERM-LIMITS AND SALARIES!
In my 26 years with the Colorado State Patrol including 5 years as a Patrol Major, I learned how government works at all levels, how to read laws, and to understand intergovernmental requirements and how they impact public safety issues.
