Former county coroner wins GOP primary for Douglas County commissioner

Lora Thomas, the former county coroner, won the Republican primary election for Douglas County commissioner, District 3, by a wide margin.

She will now face Erica Bullock-Jones, who ran unopposed in the Democratic primary, in the November general election for a seat on the three-member board in the heavily Republican county. The winner will replace term-limited Jill Repella. Read more...

Why should voters choose you for this office?

Voters should vote for Lora Thomas for county commissioner because I have the proven experience and qualifications for this position. I've managed large public-sector budgets, have developed and implemented public policy and have demonstrated the desire and ability to work collaboratively with other agencies. As the coroner, I kept my campaign promise to bring accountability to the office; I improved professionalism and services, shrunk the budget by 33 percent and ended corruption. Read more...
